     & Traineeships

School Based Apprenticeships give students a real head start with their working life.

They are able to commence an Apprenticeship part-time, earn money and gain a vocational education and training qualification whilst pursuing their secondary schooling.

Students are offered a real opportunity to develop a career and receive qualifications that are Nationally accredited and count towards their VCE or VCAL.

School Based Apprenticeships are very flexible. In most instances training is completed on the job.

The training has been developed by industry for industry, so the trainee is getting the right skills for the employer and the right skills for their future.

Students can undertake a School Based Apprenticeship in year 10, 11 or 12 and it gives them a head start for when they finish school.

After finishing school, students can pursue tertiary studies or continue their Apprenticeship full time.

The part time work and study they have already completed potentially takes up to a year off a full time Apprenticeship making them attractive to future employers.
